Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior

An extremely original 1974 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior with only 33,000km on the clock (ESTIMATE £20,000-22,000)

This 1974 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior appears to be a remarkably well preserved coupé with an astonishingly low mileage of just 33,000km (20,505 miles) and may be one of the best examples on the market. The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior was the entry model coupé that Alfa first introduced in 1965 as the replacement for the 101 series Giulia Sprint 1300.

Powered by a 1.3L twin cam engine that was introduced to allow owners to avoid higher taxes on larger engines, the GT 1300 had an output of 89 bhp. Due to its low kerb weight of just 930kg, it could still accelerate from 0-60 mph in 12.6 seconds and then on to a top speed of over 100 mph.

The current owner’s first car was an Alfa Romeo 105 series coupe 2000, and he tells us that he promised himself another only if it were original and in great condition. After following the recommendation of a friend who had found what he was looking for, he travelled to Italy and purchased the car from the original owner. He tells us that the only thing he could fault it on were the bumpers which had been used for ‘Italian style’ touch parking.

The car was officially imported to the UK in 2014 and new bumpers were ordered. Due to a busy life the bumpers have never been fitted and we understand the car has been virtually unused since being purchased. The car has been stored inside since 2015 and we are told that despite resting for the better part of 7 years, with a new battery and fresh fuel it fired up first time. This beautiful Alfa is completely and utterly original and is ready to be used. Please note the private number plate is not included in the sale.

The car is located in North London.
