Porsche 911

964 Targa Carrera 2

We are delighted to present this UK specification 1990 Porsche 911 964 Targa Carrera 2. This car has recently had a big service at the respected Jaz Porsche in London, readying for sale. This example is a Carrera 2, meaning it’s equipped with a 3.6 flat-six engine in a rear engine, rear wheel drive configuration, as opposed to the Carrera 4 which is all wheel drive. It has PAS and anti lock brakes as standard. This model is the last Porsche model to offer a traditional removable targa roof until the 2011 991 Targa.

The roof on this specific car is in excellent condition and is incredibly easy to remove and stow away. This specific vehicle has a whole host of options, with the most noticeable being the Murano Green paintwork which sits beautifully atop the Cream interior. It features some nice extras such as the five-spoke alloys, rear wiper and cassette radio with amplifier It also came equipped as standard, with electric windows, electronically controlled rear wing and electric seats from new. This example has been meticulously maintained and comes with a very busy service packet and accompanying maintenance books. Since new there has been a confidence inspiring 21 service stamps, all of which from specialist Porsche garages, as well as 6 noted brake fluid changes. Between these stamped services you’ll find detailed paperwork and receipts for sundries and wear and tear items which shows the impeccable care taken with the vehicle.

The most notable service items are a new starter in 03/2010, adjusted timing and a new differential seal in 11/2020, and a host of work carried out in 12/2020 by ‘JAZ Cars’ , consisting of a major service, complete vehicle check, new engine mounts, all new CV boots, various replaced bolts and seals as well as a complete wheel alignment - all at a cost of over £5,100 to the current keeper.

The exterior of the vehicle is in excellent condition and will easily go to the next level with a good detailing, with only a few minor age related marks.

The most prominent is a small patch of treated rust in the common position below the windscreen on the drivers side (please see Movie)

this has not deteriorated since current ownership 2015 so believe that the isssue was neutralised, when treated. There is also a small stone chip dent on the bonnet. On the inside, the vehicle is a time capsule and in excellent condition and once agin would go to the next level with a good detailer. All of the dials and buttons are in complete working order and still represent the factory finish. Slight wear on the seats and gear knob is the only evidence of the genuine 64,400 miles. Since the current owner acquired the car, an aftermarket set of floor mats sat atop the genuine Cream ones, which has preserved them incredibly well. The vehicle can be viewed upon request at a storage facility near Biggin Hill airport.
